Profile

Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in the year 2003 with an intake of 60 Students. The Department is equipped with full –fledged lab facility to meet the academic requirement. It has independent Library, Seminar Hall, Internet center and Computer center with more than 100 systems to facilitate teaching CAD, CAM, solid edge, ANSYS and CNC softwares. Since 2010, the intake was increased to 120 students. The department has highly qualified, experienced, dedicated and result oriented staff members. The department emphasizes on Research and Development to a larger extent and the project work carried out by our students has brought laurels to the Department and Institution by winning awards at various levels. We are proud to say that our department has a R & D center recognized by VTU, Belgaum. Our department has a Mechanical Engineering Forum (AVENTURA), a platform to share the talents, technology updates by the students, staff & outside resource persons.

Many of our alumni are placed in renowned companies like BARC, Robert Bosch, Sathyam Computers, Aditya Auto, TCS, Sandhar Technologies, Triveni Engineering etc. and a few are pursuing their Post Graduation in various Universities in India and Abroad.

Energy Park

A District level Energy Park (a subsidy project) is sanctioned to the department by Ministry of New & Renewable Energy Sources & Karnataka Renewable Energy Department Limited during the year 2007-08,which including solar equipments like solar water heater, street lights, pumps etc, installed in the campus are useful as well creating awareness among the students and visitors.

Objectives

To develop the department into center of excellence.
To provide world class technical education as per futuristic global man power requirment.
To develop overall personality of the students embedding moral values and to stand against all odds and to achieve desired results under any circumstances.
To encourage and develop industry – institute interactions.
